The 23rd European Symposium on Computer Aided Process Engineering was held at Lappeenranta University of Technology June 9-12 2013. The OSE group was represented in the national organizing committee by professor Tapio Westerlund. Several post doctoral researchers and PhD students from the OSE group were also present during the conference.

The ESCAPE conference series aims to bring together researchers and practitioners of computer-aided process engineering. Professor Christodoulos Floudas (Princeton University, USA), a member of the International scientific panel of the OSE group, was a plenary speakers at the conference. Other plenary speakers included professor G.V. Rex Reklaitis (Purdue University, USA) and professor Constantinos Pantelides (Imperial College London, UK).
