Lieselotte Anderwald, professor of English linguistics at the University of Kiel, Germany, will give a talk on the process of “non-standardization” and stigmatization of ain’t from a historical perspective. The title of the talk is “Non-standardization: On the historical enregisterment of ain’t in 19th century American newspapers.”
