Welcome to another PREMIS seminar this spring! Taking place on Wednesday 15 April at 16:15-17:45 in Arken, Jöns Budde (M218) or on Zoom. The speaker is doctoral researcher Kevin Wolke, from our English Department at Åbo Akademi University.

The draft title of Kevin’s thesis is “Late Modernist Existentialism: Philosophical Approaches to the Novels of Henry Miller and Hubert Selby Jr.”, and he expects to defend his thesis in late 2026. During the PREMIS he will speak about late modernist mysticism in Henry Miller’s Tropic of Capricorn and Hubert Selby Jr.’s The Demon – see abstract.
