On April 23-25, we will be visited by Mindaugas Gilaitis, a philosopher from Vilnius. The program is as follows:
On Wednesday, April 23, at 10:15-12:00, Mindaugas will give a lecture/seminar to which everyone is welcome. The theme is ”P. F. Strawson on philosophical analysis”. Attendance will provide research points for students taking the courses ”Current philosophical research” and ”Research seminar in philosophy”.
On Thursday, April 24, at 10:15-12:00, Mindaugas and I will have a joint seminar where we will discuss Peter Strawson’s texts ”Analytic Philosophy – Two Analogies” and ”Construction and Analysis”. The seminar is especially aimed at doctoral students and students at an advanced level, but all interested parties are of course welcome. Attendance will provide research points for students taking the courses ”Current philosophical research” and ”Research seminar in philosophy”.
On Friday, April 25th, from 10:15-12:00, Mindaugas will give a seminar based on Gilbert Ryle’s text ”Formal and Informal Logic”. The seminar is especially aimed at doctoral students and students at an advanced level, but all interested parties are of course welcome. Attendance will provide research points for students taking the courses ”Current philosophical research” and ”Research seminar in philosophy”.
All events take place in Arken Humboldt (L103). Doctoral students who wish can take these seminars as a doctoral course, by also writing a shorter essay related to the texts. Contact me for more information.
